Mr and Mrs Alfred Rogers, of Blenheim, parents of Mrs F. Stace, Mr E. ¥. Rogers, and Dr. E. T. Rogers, of Hamilton, are taking up their residence here. A recent issue of the Marlborough Express said. "Mr and Mrs Alfred Rogers left Blenheim to-day for Hamilton, where they are taking up their residence.- Mr Rogers arrived from England when a lad, and has spent over 50 years in Blenheim, engaged in his profession o( barrister and solicitor. Mrs Rogers was also a very early settler, her father being the late Ven. Archdeacon Butt, a prominent figure in the old days in all parts of the province. Mr and Mrs Rogers have taken their share in the activities of the town and district.
It is not Mr Rogers' intention to retire, but to join the firm of Messrs Rogers and Stace. For many years he was president of the Marlborough Law Society.
Frances Sophia Rogers died on 21 December 1930 aged 77 and is buried with her husband in the Hamilton East Cemetery, location MASON-H-136 Hamilton Cemetery Search
