William was born in 1907[1], the third son of Thomas Butterworth and Emma Ogg.
In 1928 he was living in Wellington with his Aunt Mary Parsons in Brown Street, Newtown. [2]
It would seem that William was married at some point.
William lived the rest of his life in Wellington and died in 1987[3] and is interred at Makara Cemetery in Wellington.[1]
