Surname also found as Byeard. He and his wife, Abigail, were one of the first families to arrive in that (Sargentville) area when land was granted at the close of the French and Indian Wars in 1763. Their homestead was called (and still is) Byard's Point, at Sargentville (Sedgwick).

viii. Samuel; b. Jan 13, 1781; m. Mary Billings, daughter of Abel Billings and Elizabeth Farrar, Apr, 1809 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; d. between 1812 and 1820.
ix. Robert Jr.; b. Apr 11, 1784; b. Apr 11, 1784 at Sargentville, Hancock, Maine; m. Priscilla Jordan, daughter of Samuel Jordan and Abigail Harding, Nov 26, 1812 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine. Robert, Jr. married Priscilla Jordan, daughter of Samuel Jordan III and Abigail Harden, on November 26, 1812. Priscilla was born on Nov. 24, 1793 and she and Robert died sometime after 1860. Samuel Jordan may have been the son of James Jordan and his wife. James died in 1818 on Deer Island. His son, Ebenezer, lived on Deer Isle and the other son, Samuel, lived in Sedgwick. Abigail Harden was born in Sedgwick in 1768, the daughter of Josiah Harden and Elizabeth (Eaton), daughter of *Theophilus and *Abigail (Fellows) Eaton.
x. James; b. Mar 25, 1786; b. Mar 28, 1786 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; m. Betsy Obear, daughter of William J. Obear and Rebecca Stone, at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; m. Lydia Marks Roberts, daughter of Samuel Roberts and Dolly Moore, circa 1815; d. Dec 25, 1876 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine, at age 90. James married Betsy Obear (Ober?)in Sedgwick. They had one son and then Betsy died 18 months later, on Dec. 5. 1814. James next married Lydia Marks Roberts, daughter of Samuel and Dolly (Moore) Roberts from Somersworth, N.H.
