Biography

Isaac Byard was born approximately 1798 in Maryland. His year of birth and place of birth estimated from 1850 Census.[1]

However, according to the 1860 United States Census, he was born in Pennsylvania approximately 1801. It may be inferred from both the 1850 Census records that his wife's name was Hannah. On both the 1850 and 1860 census records, they were living in Wetzel County, Virginia, in that portion of the state which would become West Virginia in 1863.[2]

Isaac Byard died in 1870 or before. There is a record in Wetzel County, West Virginia dated 25 Nov 1870 regarding the estate of Isaac Byard. According to this record, Isaac Byard had been deceased more than three months. A John Barrett was one of his creditors who filed a motion. The Sheriff was ordered to take into possession the estate of Isaac Byard. The Sheriff was also appointed administrator of the estate of Isaac Byard.[3]

He was allegedly buried in the Isaac Byard Farm Cemetery, Wetzel County, West Virginia.[4]
