Biography

He was born in 1856[1] the son of Thomas Byrne. He was born on the night of the wreck of the Dunbar.

He spent some time on gold minefields, among which were Cue, (Western Australia); Cobar, Wyalong and Captain's Flat in New South Wales. In the later part of his life he was involved in grazing.

His one son (Michael), was Canberra and Parliamentary Secretary to the opposition leader of the Commonwealth Government (Mr. Fadden).

Mr. Luke Byrne, of Anzac Parade, Maroubra, was a brother of the deceased.

William married Mary Spearing in 1904[2]He passed away in 1942[3]
