He married Julia Maria (Lyons) Byrne (1868-1944) in Victoria in 1896. . [2] Julia was his sister Elizabeth Costello (Byrne) Lyons (1869-1935) sister in law (she had married Daniel Lyons 12 years earlier). Children included:
