François Bellanger was the son of François Bélanger and Catherine Voyer, the exact date and location of his birth is uncertain, though it almost certainly in New France, possibly in L'Anse Gardien (where many of his siblings were born). See research notes for further details.
François married Catherine Nadon on the 25 February 1734 in Laval, New France. According to their marriage record both of his parents had already passed away.

He passed away on the 19 March 1774 in Saint-Vincent-de-Paul and was burried two days later on the 21 March.[2]
Research Notes
There are several competing birth dates for François that originate from a few different sources.
The first is 23 April 1690 in Cap-Saint-Ignace. The record for this birth can be found in the image attached to this profile which was sourced form this FamilySearch record [3] This record is linked to the following FamilySearch profile for a François Louis Bélanger, who is also married to a Catherine Nadon in 1734. However, this birthdate would make him 44 at the time of his marriage to Catherine, which though not unheard of, is still quite late in life, especially for the eldest son in a family. I believe this to be the least likely birthdate, and that this FamilySearch profile confused one son for another.
The second is 1708 in an unknown location. This is the birthdate proposed by NosOrigines and Greener Pastures in their profiles for him. There are no sources to back this birthdate up, and appears to be an estimate. Had he been born at this date he would have been 26 years old when he married Catherine.
The final is 30 September 1709 in l'Ange Gardien. This birthdate is attached to this Familysearch profile, and this sourced from this indexed record.[4] This birthdate would have him at 24 years old when he married Catherine, and 64 years old when he died, which is the closest to the burial record that states that he was 62.
