Research Notes

There were two (or more, due to the commonality of the family name) Mary Campbells in Virginia early on. One was born in 1704 in Donegal, and died in 1759 in Augusta. Her father’s name was John. Another Mary was born in Augusta in 1706 and supposedly died the same year. This one’s father was named William and his wife was Sarah Gay. My records indicate that Mary married a man named Carlisle or Carlile. There are land records (see Jacob’s profile) that show some land transactions between the Campbells, Carlisles, Barnetts, Clements and others.
