Sarah (Cable) Hurlbut was born in Leicestershire, England.

Sarah Ann Cable was born in Leicester in 1843, her birth was registered in the 4th quarter of that year ^[1]

In 1861 she was living with her parents George and Mary Cable, and her siblings John and Mary Ann, in Wharf Street, Leicester. Sarah was age 17 and employed in the house ^[3]

John Hurlbut married Sarah Ann Cable in Leicester in Q4 1864. ^[4]

John and Sarah and their first three children were living at Woodboy Street, Leicester in 1871. John was continuing his trade as a baker, Sarah his wife was age 27, and their children were James E age 4, William age 3 and John age 1 ^[5]

By 1881, the family were still in Leicester, and John and Sarah have 8 children, Edward age 14, William age 13, John age 11, Albert age 9, Walter E age 6, Ellen M age 4, Clara age 2 and baby Ada age 4 months. ^[6]

The 1911 census showed John and Sarah still in Leicester and their 4 youngest daughters were all unmarried and living at home, Ellen Maud age 34, Clara age 32, Ada age 30 and Ethel May age 25. ^[7]

Sarah died in Leicester in 1917, age 73 ^[8]
