Isaac Cady Sr. was born on 25 December 1739 in Pomfret, Windham, Crown Colony of Connecticut, son of Phineas Cady (1714–1789) and Sarah (Church) Cady (<1718–1757).^[1][2]

Isaac (20) and Sarah (Hendrick) Cady (22) were married on 1 October 1760 in Pomfret, Windham, Connecticut.^[3] Sarah was born on 13 May 1738 in Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Joseph (Hendricks) Hendrick and Sarah (Roberts) Hendrick. Their children were:
