Biography

William was born about 1695, the son of William Cahoon and Elizabeth Nickerson of Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts[1].

On about 1716, he married Sarah O'Kelley, daughter of David, and their children included:

  1. Mercy, or Mary born May 7, 1717, who married Elisha Baker, son of William[1]
  2. Sarah, born March 4, 1719[2], who married William Long, son of William on February 2, 1737[1]
  3. James, born May 8, 1721[3], who married Rebecca Eldredge[1]
  4. William, who married Elizabeth Gallop[1]
  5. Nathaniel, who married Thankful Philips, daughter of Micah in 1756[1]
  6. John, who married Patricia Small in 1752[1]
  7. Reuben, who married Thankful Bassett November 5, 1760[1]
  8. Downing, who married Elizabeth Maker in 1759[1]
  9. Deliverance, who married Peter Doggett, son of Seth November 24, 1756, and possibly married Zaccheus Chase[1]
  10. Elizabeth, who married Samuel Ellis, son of Samuel on November 26, 1746[1]
