Biography

Ronald G. Cain MORGANTON Ronald G. Cain, 79, of Morganton, went to soar with the eagles Thursday, June 12, 2014. He was born March 16, 1935, in Ashtabula, Ohio and was a son of the late Eldon and Hilda Cain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Loyall Cain; and by sisters, Wanda Fox and Lois Tracy. Ronald was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Ashtabula and a faithful member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Morganton. Ronald is survived by his wife, Evelyn Cain of the home; daughter, Carrie and grandson, Kyle Clement, both of the home; son, R. Russell Cain of Deland, Fla.; grandchildren, Jason Clement of Greenville, S.C. and Marie and Nicole Clement, of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Alaina and Franklin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 20, at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. William Robertson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the N.C. National Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690 or to Calvary Lutheran Church, 119 North King St., Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements. Condolences
