In a petition written from Chatham in 1840, Anthon Cain, a native or Ireland, requested a 100-acre grant of land south of Trout Brook, but apparently his
application was not successful, and he did not settle there immediately.

John, James & Margaret raised families at Boom Road, Trout Brook, and Thatham Head respectively.

Thomas, Peter & Daniel did not marry.
Anthony & Isabella Russell Cain both died in their eightieth year, according to a tombstone in the Trout Brook Cemetery.
