Biography

Isabel was born in Onchan, Isle of Man to Daniel Cain Jnr in 1778. "Isabel daughter of Daniel Cain Jnr, 15th Nov."

She married John Brew in Onchan in 1796. "John Brew of the parish of Lonan & Isabel Cain of this parish were married in this church by licence with consent of parents this 5th day of March 1796..."

In 1851 she was living at 23 Williamson Street, Liverpool, Lancashire with son William, daughter in law Sarah and their children. She was a widow.

Isabella died in Liverpool, Lancashire in 1853 and was buried in Onchan, Isle of Man on 16 Aug 1853.

Research Note

It is noted in their marriage record that they required parental consent to marry, therefore it is likely that one or both were born in 1777 or 1778. The 1851 Census recorded Isabel's birth year as about 1777.
