Note: From Terri Harmon Dean: "William Hardin Cain was an early settler of Panola County and lived in the community of Pleasant Mount which is in the area of New Hope church community. He was the manager of Harmon land and died of cancer. He was one of the few people in the county who could read or write." (email to Pat Iverson from August, 2006)
