Biography

Dorothée Caissie was born on 5 Feb 1812 in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick, the daughter of Felix Caissie and Victoire Fournier.[1][2]

Dorothée married Louis Boucher, son of François Boucher and Vénérande Girouard, on 6 Oct 1834 in Grand-Digue.[3][4] Witnesses were Placide Poirier, the groom's guardian and master(?) ("Tuteur et Maître"), Felix Caissie, the bride's father, and Dominique Caissie, the bride's bother. Their children were:

  1. Brigitte Boucher (born 18 Aug 1835)
  2. Marie Boucher (born 25 Jan 1837)
  3. Crescence Boucher (born 17 Oct 1838)
  4. Élizabeth Boucher (born 7 Jul 1841)
  5. Placide Boucher (born 2 Mar 1844)
  6. Hilaire Boucher (born 9 Oct 1846)
  7. Madeleine Boucher (born 4 Nov 1849)
  8. Clément Boucher (baptized 31 May 1851)
  9. Pierre Boucher (born 28 May 1855)

She died on 12 May 1878 and was buried two days later in Grande-Digue.[5] Her age noted in the burial record was 67 years, the wife of Louis Boucher.
