William Caldwell was married on 8 May 1844 in Owen County to Catharine Minor. His father Joseph Caldwell conducted the ceremony.[1]
On 27 August 1850, William and Catherine and their three children, Mary, Joseph, and Elizabeth, lived in District 2 of Owen County, Kentucky. Next door was his parents' farm. William worked as a farmer and owned $200 in real estate.[2]
On 20 July 1860, William and Catherine and their children- Mary, Joseph, Martha- lived in Jefferson, Daviess County, Missouri. William worked as a farmer. They owned $300 in personal estate.[3]
On 14 February 1868, William received Lot 1 in the division of his father Joseph E. Caldwell's estate, totaling 35 acres.[4]
On 27 July 1870, William and Catherine and their six children-James T., Sarah C., Rosalind, George A., Andrew J., and John S. lived in Jefferson, Davies County, Missouri. William worked as a farmer with Catherine keeping house. They owned $1,800 in real estate and $1,100 in personal estate.[5]
William died on 6 December 1875, probably in Daviess County, Missouri, and is buried in that county in Black Cemetery.[6]
