Examined Homestead application 15 June 1887; 160 acres, date of settlement January 25, 1879, date of Entry January 15, 1879, Proof: December 7, 1885, Advertised December 7, 1885 for 5 to 30 days, Date of Certificate, December 12, 1885; Clerk of the Circuit Court. 6 years, 10 monts and 12 days residence claimed.

• Homestead certificate # 3823, Application # 7199. Received patent Nov 27, 1888 resided on land beginning 25 January 1879. Witnesses were John Johnson, George W. Whisenant, John A. Tackett and George A Tackett all of Hickory Station. He states the only people living on his land are his wife and 2 children (as of 7 December 1885). Property was: w 1/2 of SW 1/4 Sec 5 and E 1/2 of SE 1/4 of Sec 6 in Twp 4 S of Range 23W containing 160 acres. Testimony states: he settled on the land in January of 1879.
