Deacon Solomon Calkins died in Champion, New York, on April 16, 1841 "Æ. 94 yrs." (gravestone). He is buried in Hillside Cemetery in Champion.[2]

January 1776. Solomon served in Col. Bedel's Regiment, Captain Joseph Easterbrooks Company in the Colony of New Hampshire.[11]
August 2, 1778 - September 12, 1778, Solomon served in the Connecticut Militia, Col. Samuel Chapman's Regiment, Capt. Jonathan Rudd's Company. Present at the battle of Rhode Island. Engaged in the attempt to dislodge the British at Newport.[12][13][14]
