Biography

Dorr was born in 1863. He was the son of Clark Calkins and Angeline Sampson. In the 1880 census Dorr was living with his parents in Freedom, Wood, Ohio, United States.[1]

He married (1) Minnie B. Arnold on 31 May 1884 in Fairfield, Lenawee Co., Michigan when he was 20 and she was 16. Minnie died in 1898.[2] and married (2) Clara "Clarry" Lyons on 6 Jun 1899 in Adrian, Lenawee Co., Michigan. He was 32 and she was 16.[3] He was the father of a large family.[4][5][6]

Clarry died in 1926, and Dorr married for the third time. The record is brief: he and Anna Flora were married from 1926 to 1930.[7]

He married (4) Barbara A. (Scott) Crew on 9 Aug 1931 in Harrison, Roscommon Co., Michigan. He was 66 and his wife was 11 years younger.[8]

His final wife, Barbara, had died on 21 Apr 1949 in Glynn, Georgia, so Dorr was without a wife until he died on 15 Apr 1952 in Glynn, Georgia. He was 87.[9][10]

In most US census records, he gives his occupation as "teamster" or "farmer," but it seems that he was also a pastor. Could someone connected to the family add records showing his religious career?
