Biography

John Milton Calkins was born on October 10, 1831 in Steuben, New York, United States, son of John Keeler Calkins (1792–1848) and Elizabeth McCall (1793–1873).[1]

John (25) and Phebe Marks Pierce (26) were married on March 15, 1857. Phebe was born on July 24, 1830 in Tioga, Pennsylvania, United States. Their known children were:

  1. William Giles Calkins (1860–1877)
  2. John Riah Calkins (1863–1958)
  3. Llewellyn Tyler Calkins (1870–1898)

John died on June 17, 1874 in Painted Post, Erwin, Steuben, aged 42. He was buried in West High Street Cemetery, Painted Post, Steuben County, New York.[1]
