Mrs Helen Howard aged 96 died at her home after a fall. Born in Boylston Oswego Co in 1837 Mrs Howard moved to Volney with her parents as a child. Before her marriage she was Miss Helen Calkins. Her father was a Methodist Episcopal minister. Mrs Howard was the next to the last of 15 children. She married Cyrus Howard they lived on a farm near Volney until his death 33 years ago. She was a member of the M.E. Church. She expressed the desire to live as long as the Lord wanted her to. Burial in Mt Adnah. Surviving are two daughters Mrs Eva Cole and Mrs Carrie Frost.
