Charles was born in 1792. He was the son of Ezra Calkins and Anna (Unknown) Calkins. He was a farmer. Charles married Dinah Swift in New York in about 1812, and they had a family. Their oldest son, Henry, was born in New York, but they moved to Ohio after that.[1][2] In 1870, he and Dinah were living with their oldest son and his family.[3] Charles passed away in 1873.[4]
