Biography

Thomas Howell was born in 1806, the son of Captain James Richard Callaway and Nancy Howell. In 1826, when he was 20 years old, he married Patience Keele.[1] The 1830 Census enumerated the family in St Charles County, Missouri, with the following household members.[2]

White Males: (1) born 1826-1830; (1) born 1801-1810
White Females: (1) born 1826-1830; (1) born 1801-1810
Slave Males: (1) born 1807-1820)
