Elizabeth Calmes was born on January 1, 1732 in Stafford, Stafford County, Colony of Virginia, daughter of Marquis Calmes (~1705–1755) and Winnifred Waller (~1709–1751).

Elizabeth (17) married Leonard Helm (44) (born about 1704 in Goosnargh, Lancashire, England; son of Capt Leonard Helm and Elizabeth Greenwood) in 1749 in Frederick, Virginia, British Colonial America. Their children were:

Elizabeth died on October 11, 1826 in Reardon Farm, White Post, Clarke County, Virginia, United States, aged 94.
