Laura was born in 1829 the daughter of Frederick Calvert, Merchant of Old Street, London and Painter of London and Cork, Ireland and the eldest daughter of William West, Bookseller of London and Cork, Ireland.
In 1841 she was in the household of her maternal grandfather, bookseller William West, of East Street, St George the Martyr, Southwark.[1]
Laura Calvert, spinster, the daughter of deceased Frederick Calvert (no profession given) married Arthur Merrick, merchant on 3 August 1853. The marriage was witnessed by William West and Sarah Calvert.[2]
She died on 4 February 1879 from Chronic Dysentery aged 50 years. She was recorded as being the widow of a merchant. She was buried on 7 February 1879 at St. John's Church, Limerick, Ireland. [3]
