Biography

Hugh Cameron is an Anzac who served in World War Two.

Hugh was born in 1906. He was the son of Donald Cameron and Frances Jacobs. He passed away in 1945.

FUNERALS MR. HUGH CAMERON A large and representative gathering attended the funeral of Mr. Hugh Cameron, which took place at the Winkleigh Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The services at the home and graveside were conducted by Mr. Willliams, home missionary of the West Tamar Presbyterian Church. The chief mourners were Masters Neil and Robert Cameron (sons), Mr. D. Cameron (father), Messrs. Alex. (R.A.A.F.), Allan and Cyril Cameron (brothers), Messrs. R. Tuting, R. La- mont, W. Fraser (brothers-in-law) and Messrs. A. and M. Cameron (uncles).

The carriers were Messrs. S. Fraser, A. McBain, R. Atkinson and W. Sydes. Pall-bearers were N.C.Os. and personnel of the 19th Platoon, V.D.C. Many beautiful floral tributes were received, including one from the V.D.C. Funeral arrangements were by Mr. C. T. Finney. The late Mr. Cameron was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Cameron, of Glengarry. He leaves his wife, formerly Miss Margaret Lamont, and three young children, Neil, Margaret and Robert. [1]
