Jane Campbell was born 30 December 1810 in Edinburgh, Scotland. She was the daughter of John Campbell and Jean Kinnear. She was the third of four daughters born to this couple. Her two older sisters were Elizabeth born 31 May 1806 and Mary born 27 January 1808. Her younger sister was Margaret born on 12 May 1814. Like Jane, the other three sisters were all born in Edinburgh, Scotland.
She married John Gordon Lorimer either on 6 September 1831 in St. Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Scotland, or 27 Aug 1831 in Torryburn, Fife, Scotland. Jane and John had seven children, 5 girls, and two boys.
The eldest child was Jane Kinnear she was born on 12 September 1832 in Barony, Lanarkshire, Scotland. The first son, Robert, was born about 1840 in Glasgow. The second son was born about 1842 in Glasgow, they named him John Campbell. Joanna was born about 1846 in Glasgow, and the last child was Agatha she was born in about 1848 in Glasgow as well.
