Albert was born on 8 July 1861in Ireland and baptised at the Mariners' Church in Kingstown (now Dun Laoghaire), Ireland, on 4 Aug 1861. He migrated with his mother and other siblings to Australia on the Great Britain steamship in February 1865 whereas his father and elder brothers travelled on their own ship, the Lucy, arriving on 28/8/1864. The family settled in Streaky Bay on the West Coast.
Albert Campbell married Rosina Robertson BURNET in 1887 at St Augustine's Church, Streaky Bay. They lived in Wirrulla where Alby ran the mail coach, and had 5 children.
With the children grown, Alby and Rosina moved to Adelaide around 1921 however Rosina died after a short illness two years later in 1923, and Albie moved back from Adelaide to the Eyre Peninsula (Pimbaacla) to cook for the two boys (Gilbert and Clarrie who had returned from the war) and their workmen. - "Wirrula - the town with a secret".
Alby built a small hut which he named Sandalwood cottage next to the family-built Lone Oak Homestead at Pimbaacla near Wirrulla - he joined the family for meals but preferred his small hut and outdoor hammock made of mattress metal wire strung between two trees. As of 2012, the hut still stood as it was when Alby left for medical treatment in Adelaide in the late 1940s, with his glasses on the tiny small table and a wall calendar showing a cutter/sailing ship - his grandson, Warren Campbell, remembered the hut as smelling strongly of sandalwood and Albie's cutter calendars. Alby died in Adelaide in 1952.

Campbell-13626 and Campbell-11173 appear to represent the same person because: The only difference is the plaqce of birth - Scotland, rather than Dublin
