Biography

George Campbell is a member of Clan Campbell.

George Campbell, Master of Loudoun was the son of Sir Hugh Campbell, 1st Lord Campbell of Loudoun and Margaret Gordon. He married Lady Jean Fleming, daughter of John Fleming, 1st Earl of Wigton and Lady Lilias Graham.

He died in March 1612.

Family

George, was the only son and apparent heir of Hugh Campbell, lord of Loudoun. They had two daughters.

  • Margaret Campbell, afterwards baroness of Loudoun. She married John Campbell, eldest son and heir of Sir James Campbell of Lawers, thus combining these two estates. This title was later made into Earl of Loudon.
  • Anne Campbell, married to sir Hugh Campbell of Cesnock.
