DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Richard by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Richard:

Found a Google Books source at https://play.google.com/books/reader?id=sfw-AQAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover&output=reader&hl=en&pg=GBS.PA5 that lists on pp.453 and 454, "Richard L. Campbell, who owns and operates one hundred and sixty acres of rich and arable land on section 9, Lincoln Township, Grundy County, is one of the worthy citizens that Canada has furnished to this community. The record of his life is as follows: He was born in Ontario in 1848, and is a son of Andrew and Bridget (Finecy) Campbell. The former was born in Ireland, as were his parents, but the family was originally of Scotch origin." (There's more.)

My interest was thru Richard's sister Belinda who married a McFarland. The McFarland's took my ancestor F. G. Kilbourn into their household.
