Lady Mary was a bridesmaid at the wedding of her elder sister, Lady Edith Campbell, to Earl Percy M.P., the eldest son of the Duke of Northumberland.[3]

Lady Mary was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Charles William Sydney, Viscount Newark (eldest son of Earl Manvers) and Helen Shaw Stewart, eldest surviving daughter of Sir Michael Robert Shaw Stewart, Baronet of Greenock and Blackhall. [4]

Lady Mary was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Queen Victoria's son, Prince Leopold George Duncan Albert (Sachsen-Coburg and Gotha), Duke of Albany, to Princess Helene Friederike Auguste Waldeck and Pyrmont. [5]

Lady Mary married Rt. Rev. Hon. Edward Carr Glyn on 4 July 1882. [6]

The Edinburgh Evening News celebrated the wedding in the edition on Wednesday 05 July 1882, as follows[7]:

MARRIAGE OF LADY MARY CAMPBELL
The marriage of the Hon. and Rev.Edward Carr-Glyn, Vicar of Kensington, with Lady Mary Campbell, daughter of the Duke of Argyll, took place yesterday at St Mary Abbot's Church, London. Among the relatives and invited friends who occupied pew 3 immediately in front of the chancel were the Duke and Duchess of Teck and party, Duke and Duchess Argyll, Duke and Duchess of Northumberland, and other members of the aristocracy. Admission to the church- was by ticket. Every seat was occupied, and many of the parishioners were unable to obtain admittance. The bridal party arrived soon after half-past eleven, the bride being met at the door by twelve bridesmaids. The bride wore a dress ivory satin, trimmed with Brussels lace, and a Brussels lace veil. The bridesmaids were Lady Constance Campbell, Miss Mabel Glyn, Lady Eva Fitzgerald, Miss Rose Glyn, Miss Grenfell, Miss Maude Glyn, Lady Louisa Percy, Miss Edith Percy, Miss Delia Glyn, Miss Mildred Glyn, Miss Lilah Campbell, and Miss Elspeth Campbell. These young ladies were attired in dresses of ivory satin, with white lace hats. The bridegroom was accompanied Mr. Henry Glyn. The service, which was full choral, was conducted by the Bishop of Lichfield and the Hon. and Rev. F. G. Pelham, vicar of Halesowen. At the close of the ceremony the guests drove to Argyll Lodge, Camdenhill, where they were entertained at breakfast by the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. In the afternoon the newly-married pair left for Cliveden.

Death 1947

Lady Mary died in London, England, aged 87 years, on March 22, 1947. She was buried on 10 April 1947 at Hinton Parva, Dorset, England.[10]

Lady Mary's death was mentioned in the Peterborough Standard on Friday 28 March 1947 [11] which said:

It is Just on thirty-one years since Bishop Carr Glyn relinquished the See of Peterborough, and only the older generation of local people can now personally recall his widow Lady Mary Emma Glyn who died in London last Saturday. She was a daughter of the 8th Duke of Argyll and was born in 1859. SirRalph Glyn. M.P. for Abingdon, is a son and there were two daughters. Lady Mary's personality is not likely to have been forgotten by those who knew her during the Bishop's 20 years' episcopate at Peterborough. She was a hostess in the great tradition of her time; she had uncompromising temperance opinions, and she was actively interested in the work of the diocese and in national and local affairs in general.
