Daniel Campbell is claimed to be a lineal descendant of John Campbell, Duke of Argyle according to an anecdote from one of his grandchildren. He was an officer in the army of William the Third, and was in the battle of Boyne Waters. At the close of that war, he settled in the north of Ireland.
This needs to be sourced as the YDNA does not support the ancestral claim.
