John was born on 20 Dec 1820 in Madison County, Alabama. His parents were William Campbell and Elizabeth Cash.[1][2]
On October 28, 1849, he married Ruth Elizabeth Cavett in Bossier Parish, Louisiana.[3][4] They made their home in Bossier County, in the Plainville P.O. area.[5] By 1870, they were still in Bossier County, now in post office Bellevue.[6] They had six children:
Frances Viola (1854-1931)
William Alexander (1857-1866)
Louisa Elizabeth (1858-1860)
James Samuel (1861-1911)
John Burchfield, Jr. (1867-1868)
Thomas Madison (1869-1943)
John's occupation changed over the years, as listed on the census reports: Teacher (1850), Merchant (1860), and Farmer (1870 and 1880).[7]
John passed away on 30 Dec 1892 in Bossier Parish. He was buried in Salem Cemetery, Redland, Bossier Parish, Louisiana.[8]
