Biography

Sarah was born about 1760. Sarah Campbell . Pioneer-Joseph & Elizabeth Yarbrough Henry Yarbrough of Caroline County, Virginia, married Sarah Dismukes. Their son Jeremiah married Sarah (Sally) Campbell, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Peatross Campbell also of Virginia.

Jeremiah and Sarah Yarbrough lived in Virginia for some time, they moved in 1810 to Logan County, Ky requesting that she be granted letters of administration for the estate of Jeremiah Yarbrough in order to sell property in Todd County. It then names their six children-five of whom signed this request. One of their six children is our subject, Joseph Campbell Yarbrough who married Elizabeth Talkington 15 Nov 1825, in Todd Co., Ky. Joseph and Elizabeth Yarbrough lived in Montgomery Co., Tn. In the early to middle 1850s they moved to Hill County, Texas. The older children who had married moved at different times but by 1860 Joseph and Elizabeth Yarbrough and all six of their children were living in Hill County. The children were: John Henry Yarbro and wife Katherine Woodson, Jeremiah William Yarbro and 1st wife Marinda Woodson, Sarah Elizabeth Yarbro and husband N. W. Tanner, Joseph D. Yarbro married Thurza Ann Weaver, Amy Yarbro married George M. Beach and Eudora Ellen Yarbro married Erastus Modrall.
