John Campbell ... He passed away about 1868.^[1]

He was the first husband of Mary Jane Gray.

John Campbell, Bullock Driver, had been up before the Court for drunken behaviour on a few occasions. He disappears from view after 1865. Only 3 John Campbells were recorded as dead in Qld between 1865 and 1871 when Mary took up with William. Only two were possible matches. None of those deaths appeared in newspapers.
