Biography

Nancy E. Campbell Crater was born on Nov 28, 1839 in Iredell, North Carolina, USA. Her parents are [Campbell-707|Williamson H. Campbell]] (1815-1881) and Jemima Mayberry Campbell (1812-1881). She married Jacob Jeremiah Crater (1834-1920). She is buried at Winthrop Friends Meeting Cemetery, Harmony, North Carolina, USA. [1]

Nancy and Jacob had the following children:

  1. James P. Crater (1868-1896)[2]
  2. John Williamson Crater (1870-1935), who married Della Jane Johnson (1871-1937)[3]
  3. Augusta Crater Parks (1871-1957), who married John Lyle Parks (1870-1940)[4]
  4. Newton Gwyn Crater (1874-1949), married Daisy Elizabeth Williams (1891-?) in 1836, married (about 1896) and divorced Alice Sarah Baity (1872-after 1940)[5]
  5. Williamson Jacob Crater (1879-1944), who married Ida Louise Combs (1875-1935)[6]

This is the history of the Campbell Family compiled in 1925 by H. P. Van Hoy, a descendant of Sarah Campbell, daughter of John R. Campbell, who married William A. Van Hoy. It was given out at the first annual Campbell family reunion in Union Grove, Iredell, North Carolina. It was written based on recollections of the oldest living descendants in 1925 that lived in Union Grove, North Carolina and correspondence with descendants in Izard County Arkansas, as well as research of property deeds.
