John was born on 23 September 1812 (see image on FindAGrave link) in Pennslyvania[1].
He married Fannie Baker and they had at least two children: Nancy (1834 - 1904) and Jerome (1837 - 1917).
In 1850, the family were living in Forks, Cheektowaga and consisted of John B (37), Fannie (35), Jerome (12) and Richard Doyle (15, from Nova Scotia)[1].
He died on 1 January 1875 and is buried at Transit Rural Cemetery, Bowmansville, Erie, New York (see image on FindAGrave link).
