Rachel (Campbell) Higginbotham was a Virginia colonist.

Rachel Campbell was the youngest child born to Scottish Emigrant, Henry, and Charity Campbell in about 1755 in Amherst County, Virginia.

Rachel and James Higginbotham were married on May 30, 1779 in Amherst County, Virginia.[1]

Their Children:

  • Judith Higginbotham Dillard (1791 - 1855)
  • Col. Joseph Cabell Higginbotham (1782 - 1842)
  • George Washington Higginbotham (1783 - 1863)
  • Col. James Higginbotham, Jr. (1789 - 1852)

All of her sons served in the War of 1812.

Rachel died at 54 years old on March 28, 1809 and is buried in Higginbotham Cemetery in Amherst, Virginia.[2]
