Biography

Percival Adam (possibly Adam Percival) Campbell or possibly Rogur Campell may have been born in Argyll, Scotland in 1710 and married a Sarah Cook in 1734. He may have died in Rowan County, North Carolina, USA in 1781 at age 71. His father may have been Nicholas Campbell, born in Scotland in 1689. Percival Adam Campbell may have had at least one son, Percial Adam Campbell. Sourcing for these facts awaits further research.[1]

Research Notes

The parents of his son, Percival Adam Campbell are uncertain. The only sources currently available are the Scotish birth records of Percival Adam Campbell and mention in the H.P. Van Hoy Campbell Family History in 1925 of a Pierce Campbell who married a Sarah Cook. The Van Hoy history does not give any dates of birth or death.[2]

The parents on the son's Find A Grave: Memorial #65702275 are Patrick Campbell 1696-1767 and Elizabeth Taylor 1698-1754, which do not match this profile.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Pierce by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Pierce:

The text in the Biography looks exactly like what is on Find a Grave for Percival Adam Campbell (#65702275) written by Glenn Ellis. Find a Grave for Percival Adam Campbell. I started correcting Percival Adam Campbell (Campbell-730) to put all the information there. I am not sure were the birth date of 1781 came for Campbell-710. I am beginning to think that this is a duplicate of Campbell-730. That means there wasn't a Percival Adam Campbell I and II and only a Percival Adam Campbell I born in 1735. I am in the process of posting an image and reference from the Scotish archives that shows a birth date for Adam Campbell in Dunblane.

Is anyone looking at these coments?

I took Sarah Elizabeth Cook (Cook-745) off as spous of Adam Campbell. Her birth and death dates appear to match Sarah Elizabeth Sallie Cook (Cook-746), who is married to Perciphull Campbell, Sr (Campbell-743). I don't know who the wife of this Perciphull Adam Campbell is. G. Moore
