Sources

Family information handed down through Margaret Campbell MacDonald Hadley (McDonald-6464) to her daughter Marilyn (Hadley-1604) and recorded here by Catherine (Hadley-1590): The old people said they were promised transport and land if they emigrated to Canada and laughed that at least they got the trip. Margaret and her siblings believed this meant their parents and grandparents were not provided land. It is unclear how they acquired their land in Quebec.
