All of the records I have been able to find state that Joshua was the son of Joseph Cantrell, not John Cantrell. Carmi G. Cantrell compiled a Biographical Album of his branch of the Cantrell family. It was begun by Zebulon G. Cantrell, Carmi's great grandfather, who was the son of Joshua.[1] Carmi continued and expanded the work done by his great grandfather and it was published as Biographical Album of the Cantrell Family in 1898. In this work Carmi makes clear that his line was descended from Zebulon Cantrell, whom he called the Immigrant. He was mistaken in that, but correct in stating his line was from Zebulon. Therefore, I am removing Joshua as son of John Cantrell and transferring him to his appropriate place as son of Joseph Cantrell. Strutton-11 12:42, 30 March 2017 (EDT)
