Descendant of William Cantrell, the first Cantrell in North America. William arrived from England with Captain John Smith in Jamestown, Virginia on April 20, 1607.
Biography
Asa was born in 1796 and Rockingham County, North Carolina. He was the son of Elijah Cantrell and Achea Cummins. He passed away in December 1879 in Greene County, Kentucky and is buried in Risen-Close Cemetery, Summersville, Green County, Kentucky.[1]
Asa married Nancy Lewis on 15 February 1820 in Green County, Kentucky.[2]
In 1850 Asa, wife Nancy and children Lewis, Axa, Isaac, Cynthia, Elizabeth, George, and John are living in Green County, Kentucky.[3]
