Elizabeth was born in April 1820 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Martin Cantrell and Catherine Rice. She passed away before Oct 1877, probably in Lamar County, Alabama. She is not found on the 1880 census and is not listed as an heir in the probate records of her husband, Amos Cooper, filed 31 October 1877.
Elizabeth married Amos Cooper about 1842 in Marion County, Alabama. No marriage record has been found but they are shown as husband and wife on the 1850 census.
In 1850 Amos is living in Marion County, Alabama with second wife Elizabeth Cantrell. In the household are children:
Pinkney is apparently one of the sons under age 5 listed on the 1840 census with Amos Cooper. His birthday is usually given online as December 1839 and he Is listed in 1850 as age 10. He could not be the son of Elizabeth, Amos' second wife.
In 1860 Amos and wife Elizabeth are still living in Marion County, Alabama. In their household are children:
