Cuthbert I Cardwell was the son of Thomas Cardwell & Joan Hudson Cardwell of Kirkham, Lancashire, England. Cuthbert married Margaret Carter (1568-1602) of Kirkham on Aug. 9,1586 at St. Michael Parish Church, Kirkham, Lancashire, England. Cuthbert & Margaret are known to have at least three living children. They were: Richard (b. abt.1587), James (b.abt.1588) & William (b.1590). Cuthbert & Margaret Cardwell are buried in the Old St. Michael Parish Churchyard, Kirkham, Lancashire, England.
