Father Sir Nicholas Carew, Baron Carew b. c 1409, d. c 20 Apr 1448

Mother Joan Courtenay b. c 1411, d. c 3 Aug 1465

Nicholas Carew was born circa 1433 at Haccomb, Devonshire, England to Sir Nicholas Carew and Joan Courtenay. [1]

He married Elizabeth Croker, daughter of Sir John Croker.

Sir Nicholas Carew died 13 September 1469 .

CAREW NICHOLAS V Younger son of Nicholas IV Carew and Joan Courtenay

[CPR EIV] 10 November 1461 Westminster. Commission to Nicholas Carrewe, esquire, to take and keep safely Nicholas Carrewe son and heir of Thomas Carrewe, esquire, deceased, tenant in chief, whose custody and marriage belong to the king.

[CFR EIV] 22 September 1469. Writ of diem clausit extremum to the escheator of the county of Devon, after the death of Nicholas Carew, esquire, who held of the king in chief.

[CPR EIV] 10 September 1471 Westminster. Commission to William Laken, Thomas Walron, John Hyde and the sheriff of Oxford and Berks to enquire what lands Nicholas Carrewe, esquire, deceased, tenant in chief, held in those counties, what they are worth, when he died and who is heir, and to take the lands into the king's hands.

[CFR EIV] 21 November 1470. Writ of diem clausit extremum to the escheator of the counties of Devon and Cornwall; Berks; Southampton; after the death of Nicholas Carew, esquire, who held of the king in chief.
