Lila-Lilla was born in 1886. Lila-Lilla Carlton ... [1]
A few notes: Lilla was my great-great-grandmother. We believe she was born around 1865, as her first child was born mid-1880s. Furthermore, her husband, Thomas Wesley Curry was born around 1865.
Though some believe Lilla's mother was Romelda Lowe, there is no child born in GTC to a Romelda Lowe or Romelda Carleton (Lilla's stated maiden name) during the time period in question. The only female child born to a Romelda in GTC within this time frame is a girl born to Romelda HARRIS, November 1864.
Here's some more information about a potential Lilla Carleton/Romelda Harris link: http://littlehousebytheferry.com/2015/04/28/two-steps-forward-one-step-back/
If anyone can contribute further information or confirm any of the above, it would be MUCH appreciated. Amanda Diedrick, September 9, 2015
Is she related to: https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Carleton-532&public=1 ? It seems highly likely because, Lilla and Ernest Frederick are the only Carleton/Carltons I have found in Bahamas records, besides Ernest's offspring. - Phil Roberts-9334
Phil, I believe that may be the case. Like yours, my research has located only these two Carletons/Carltons I've ever found in the records.. -- Amanda Diedrick
