Biography

William was baptized 12 February 1639 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, a son of Thomas Cairnie and Agnes Cowper.^[1]

William Carney (or Kearney) married Abigail Starnell.

He passed away on 15 Oct 1683 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Research Notes

Thomas and Agnes had a second son, also named William, who was christened at Edinburgh 21 April 1641.^[2] It is possible, although not certain, that the William who is the subject of this profile died prior to that date and is not the person who married Abigai Starnell and emigrated from Scotland.
