Biography

Mayor of the Palace/Prince of the Franks. Frankish prince, son of Charles Martel and brother of Pepin III the Short.

After inheriting Austrasia, Alemannia, Thuringia, and the suzerainty of Bavaria from his father, Carloman fought alone and with his brother to suppress external enemies and rebellious subjects. Concerned with reform of the church, he called on St. Boniface for help and in 742 summoned the first Frankish council in nearly 50 years; in 743 the Synod of Estinnes regulated the problem of church lands seized by Charles Martel and granted out to his vassals.

Carloman abandoned the secular life, becoming a monk first at Monte Soratte, later at Monte Cassino, in Italy. [1]

Carloman, "ruled over that part of the Frankish realm that corresponded with present day Germany (Austrasia). He was part of the family that later became the Carolingian dynasty, but this did not serve as his name during his lifetime. There is no information on where he was born - even tracing the movements of his father, Charles Martel, does not produce many hints about this. - Ben M. Angel

This line is usually considered to have been founded by Saint Arnulf, bishop of Metz in the early seventh century.

Can someone remove whom his mother is Chrothrudis is also listed as his wife.

Also, 2nd wife shown here, "Unknown Daughter of Alard", is another version of his mother's sister Alard-1 ...
Of Austrasia-56 and Pippinid-17 appear to represent the same person because: same person .. PLEASE NOTE: wife on both & mother on Pippinid-17 all appear to be 3 versions of same person (Chrotrude) ... same type of confusion shown for child(ren), Rotrude shown m. to her brother Gerald??

Lots of work needed, but this merge could be a good start?

Discrepancy between the claim here of unknown parents and Wikipedia and Britannica claim he's the son of Charles Martel and his wife Chrotrude of Treves.
