Biography
John was the son of Robert and Eleanor Carpenter of Marden. He was named in the 1606/7 will of his father.[1] In that will he was described as being an apprentice. Based on an apprenticeship lasting seven years and a common age to start an apprenticeship being about 14, his birthdate would have been no later than 1592.
